Our Business

ZappyRide is a software start-up focused on making EVs more accessible to consumers and businesses. We are based in New York City, and work with clients all over the United States and Canada. Our target demographic are electric utilities (PG&E), automakers (Ford) and leading non-profits (Plug In America) to make electric cars a reality.

We were early to see the EV transition, and with EVs making only a small fraction of vehicles in the US, think it’s just the beginning. As a 4-year-old startup, we have achieved product-market fit and our sales pipeline is strong. We currently have a team of 16 FTEs, mostly engineers and data analysts.

Your Role

Operate across a wide range of functions to support our growth and operations.


  • Setup and operate internal contract management system
  • Work with client procurement teams to maintain vendor accounts
  • Work with our Account Management team to spot expiring contracts and renew them
  • Manage invoicing (send invoices, check for payment and follow up)
  • Manage company books in Quickbooks
  • Calculate financial forecasts
  • Calculate project financials
  • Manage tax filings & compliance
  • Manage company insurance policies


  • Screen and shepherd candidates through recruiting process
  • Manage roster of recruiters
  • Work with hiring managers to identify and recruit top candidates

Human Resources:

  • Setup and operate internal labor contract management system
  • Manage filings & compliance
  • Manage company benefits (e.g. 401k)
  • Handle expense reimbursement
  • Track and boost team morale


  • Support our Engineering team with tracking physical assets
  • Support our client management, business development and product management teams
  • Manage office space
  • Manage company calendar
  • Manage company get-togethers

Your Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, major in Business, Finance, Accounting or HR preferred  
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, or HR
  • Interest in working across a wide range of functional areas
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for the company’s mission of spreading electric vehicles 
  • Has ambition to “make a dent” in the auto/clean energy industry and is interested in investing time to constantly improve as a professional
  • Thrives in a company culture where high performance is recognized, and low performers are asked to step aside
  • Based in New York City
