We are Equal Access Partners, and we are allied with the
Association for Equal Access (A4EA.com), a disability rights group with a long
history of promoting disability rights.
Your job as a tester, (anywhere in the NY area) is to
document accessibility violations you encounter ( public entrances, restrooms
etc.) and forward them to us. We will
advise you how to document your experiences. You can receive up to $75 per
report.
As you may know, many businesses in New York State that are
required to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) still have
not made their facilities accessible to people with mobility disabilities even
though this law has been in effect since 1991. (There is no grandfather clause in the ADA)
You may qualify if you have any type of mobility issue (such
as arthritis) that impedes your walking or standing. In addition to being a tester, you can become
an actual claimant if, during your testing, you should experience discomfort or
pain, as in having to ambulate up a stairway at an entrance or use an
inaccessible restroom. (Inquire for more
information on this program).

verify your encounter. We do not need
